This Christmas, while rewatching Home Alone, I noticed something I’d missed all these years—a deep, mysterious shade of green woven throughout the film. It’s not just festive; it’s deliberate, quietly signaling something. As if the movie is whispering... wealth.

"I don't do focus groups"
Some Tesla engineers weren't fans of the Cybertruck's design, the automaker's design chief Franz von Holzhausen told Walter Isaacson.
"A majority of the people in this studio hated it," von Holzhausen said, according to the book. "They were like, 'You can't be serious.' They didn't want to have anything to do with it. It was just too weird."
Some Tesla engineers even took to covertly designing another version of the electric pickup after they saw a mock-up of the futuristic truck on display at SpaceX's showroom in Los Angeles during the summer of 2019.
"I don't do focus groups," Elon Musk said, according to Isaacson.
Rather than focus on adjusting the design, Musk told von Holzhausen that he wanted a driveable version of the vehicle that he could demo at a Tesla event in November, which von Holzhausen said "forced the team to come together, work twenty-four-seven," Isaacson wrote.

Don.jpeg is just my name, followed by a file extension. The extension refers to the most common image format – the JPEG. Here are 25 jpegs for you to enjoy. All of them are photos I've taken and represent an ongoing attempt to document something – a moment, a feeling, or something I really need to remember.

workwear.jpeg
The computer is like a hammer, a wrench, screwdriver, tape measure, a shovel, or whatever tool is required to build something.
The internet is the construction site.
"Work" and the tools we use to do work have changed.
This is an exploration of that idea. Carhartt has always been positioned as clothing designed to help people work. Pixelating the "C" and adding the word "computers" changes the context of "workwear."

Robot Building, Bankok (1986)
The Robot Building located in the Sathorn business district of Bangkok, Thailand, houses United Overseas Bank's Bangkok headquarters. It was designed for the Bank of Asia by Sumet Jumsai to reflect the computerization of banking; its architecture is a reaction against neoclassical and high-tech postmodern architecture. The building's features, such as progressively receding walls, antennas, and eyes, contribute to its robotic appearance and to its practical function. Completed in 1986, the building is one of the last examples of modern architecture in Bangkok (via Wikipedia).

Dishes by Till Nowak (2009)
Artist statement via digitalarchive.siggraph.org:
Dishes is a digitally manipulated photo that reflects the absurdity of our society, which has been flooded by media as people lose human contact with each other. This ironic social statement connects today’s advanced techniques in computer-generated imagery with the craftsmanship of art forms like traditional photography.
Hundreds of satellite dishes infect a skyscraper like a disease. Or is it mankind’s unconscious desire to barricade itself from real life, to slow down social life by consuming endlessly accelerating media input? The dishes are pointing in the direction of a distant satellite, expressing the disconnect between people as social beings.
The image is based on a real photograph of a building that was extended to double its original height in Photoshop. The natural perspective distortion was corrected to give the real photo a constructed and unreal feeling. It is derived from photos of real satellite dishes, which were used as texture maps for 12 different 3D models, then duplicated to form groups of instanced geometry and manually arranged in 3ds Max.

Moncler Man
The Michelin logo is one of the world's most recognizable and oldest trademarks. It was introduced by the Michelin Brothers in 1898 after they saw a pile of tires and thought it looked like an armless man.

Discounted Design: Here's How The Eames Lounger Ended Up At Costco:
Herman Miller has determined that Costco obtained the Eames Lounge Chairs and Ottomans in question through a company who misrepresented the intended use of the product. Although these particular chairs are Herman Miller goods produced at our Michigan manufacturing facilities, Costco is not an authorized Herman Miller retailer.
