A24 Visit

Terrain and A24 hosted a private screening of Marty Supreme last night for a small group of marketers, agency heads, and designers.

This is the exact type of IRL experience more companies need to emulate. The formula is pretty simple:

entertainment + exclusivity

(a small group of industry peers, a shared experience, good conversation).

It works.

Thanks Willem Van Lancker for the invite πŸ“

Church

Started going to church. I think we were feeling spiritually empty for a long time there. Just existing and checking all these boxes. Connected, optimized, achieving, smiling, buying stuff, on and on. But feeling increasingly more disconnected and, as a family, together, isolated. Our world has gotten bigger and at the same time, smaller and more insulated. There's been a lot of confusion and rejection week after week. Doctor visits over and over. Neurologists, OTs, all sorts of specialists. It's all had a sort of hollowing-out effect. The impact of enduring this for the last few years was starting to show – we found ourselves getting colder and angrier. There were brief moments of relief, but nothing sustainable, and that was also a challenge. We could never grasp why one day might be good and the next day would be so so bad. We would convince ourselves it was normal. After years, we couldn't pretend anymore. And I think when you get to that point of being completely lost, a place of complete surrender, there is really only one place to go at that's church. And so we started going.
